Kirsters Baish| As we’ve reported before, President Donald Trump has been making his rounds on his tour in Asia during the past couple of weeks. This is his first trip to the region as President of the United States. This past Saturday our Commander in Chief delivered a very important speech in Da Nang, Vietnam. This speech was meant to commemorate Veterans Day, and our President was more than happy to honor our country’s veterans. Trump also signed a proclamation, “Commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War.”
A transcript from WhiteHouse.gov explained that during his extremely touching speech, President Trump invited multiple veterans who were posted behind him to give their own comments.
Morgan stated, “Mr. President, from my heart, thank you for your support of the military, and it’s an honor to be here as one of seven Vietnam veterans representing the 58,000 heroes who never made it home.”
Trump gave Morgan a big hug following his comments.
You can view the heart-warming exchange below:
President Trump explained in his speech, “Our veterans are a national treasure, and I thank them all for their service, sacrifice, and patriotism. To each of you with me today, you are the heroes who fulfill your duty to our nation. And each of you, under the most difficult conditions, did what you had to do, and you did it well.”
President Trump is a man who has honored and respected our veterans both during his presidential campaign and now in the Oval Office. He always makes our men and women in uniform a priority, and ensures that they receive the respect that they so justly deserve.
President Trump along with his entire administration have been doing everything in their power to reform the Veterans Administration in order to fix any issues that have compromised the system and cost veterans their lives for decades.
President Trump referred to Secretary of Veterans Affairs David Shulkin in his speech, explaining “Dr. Shulkin has done an amazing job with choice and accountability and so many other things that we are doing and in the process of doing. The Veterans Administration is a whole different place.”
Unlike former President Barack Obama, President Trump has decided to embrace our country’s history and show his pride towards our men and women who are serving and who have served in our military. One of our country’s biggest strengths has always been our wonderful military. President Trump is dead set on making sure that our men and women in combat are provided with the best equipment possible and all of the support we can muster up.
We are so grateful to have a man in office who honors our troops every chance he gets. This is truly what our country needs. We all need to ban together to show our military just how much we appreciate the sacrifices they make to defend our freedoms.
