Union President Drops Trump Bombshell… Democrats’ Worst Fears Are Coming True

Kirsters Baish| Democrat election victories in the past owe a lot to the unions in our country. The workers show a certain kind of loyalty to Democrats when in the voting booth. The left has taken advantage of unions since the 1960’s, but things might be changing. President Trump’s tariff proposals have stirred up some controversy. Critics of the proposals have called them “protectionism.”

One major union in the United States just announced that they’re coming around to Trump. Their votes might be turning red. The anti-Trump news network MSNBC conducted an interview with the president of the United Steelworkers who had some good things to say about President Trump and his tariff idea.

Real Clear Politics reported, “Gerard praised Trump for making it clear he is going to ‘tackle trade deficits’ which he called a ‘wealth transfer’ because they are ‘taking good jobs away.’”

Gerard explained, “It’s going to make it very hard for our members to ignore what he just did and what makes me sad is we’ve been trying to get Democrats to this for more than 30 years.”

Gerard’s statement could mean things are about to change. United Steelworkers is the biggest industrial labor union in the United States. They have nearly a million members. They also have connections to other groups which include AFO-CIO (a lobbying and voting bloc.)

We should also note that Gerard also bashed the left for their failure to follow through with promises.

“The president has made it really clear that he’s going to tackle the trade deficits,” Gerard stated. “It is unacceptable that America would have an $800 billion trade deficit but when you subtract services, roughly $600 billion annual trade deficit.”

It seemed as though Gerard was repeating what Trump had already said. He explained, “That’s a wealth transfer and you can’t argue that those trade deficits are creating good jobs. Those trade deficits are taking good jobs away.” He then slammed Dems again saying, “All we’re asking for is a level playing field and with the president has done is send a signal that he’s going to help us get a level playing field. And we gave the Republicans and we gave the Democrats — we’ve given every government since before Clinton hope that they would do something.”

Time will only tell what will happen in the 2018 and 2020 elections.
