Kirsters Baish| We are all very proud of United States Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley. She has been doing a wonderful job of conveying President Trump’s points to the rest of the world. President Trump’s new policy in which he explained that we will no longer be providing the Palestinians with money unless they are nicer to Israel has caused a lot of talk. Haley backed up our Commander in Chief beautifully.
Haley spoke about the topic of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency and outlined the new strategy. The UNRWA is meant to assist Palestinian refugees until the United Nations believes that they are ready to return “to the negotiating table” with Israel. The only way that the Palestinians will get their money is if they are acting in good faith towards the Israelis. President Trump is sick and tired of handing over millions of dollars in American taxpayers’ dollars to the Palestinians when they are unwilling to cooperate.
Haley has not made it clear as of yet if this means that the funding will be withheld by the United States from the UNRWA or from funding related to keeping up the Palestinian Authority in general. America is UNRWA’s biggest funder. We provide over $300 million every single year. The Israel newspaper, Haaretz, reported that Haley’s statements will be viewed as a threat against the Palestinians. We are ready to do whatever it takes.
Haley was asked by a reporter to defend her decision to stand by moving the American Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Her answer was epic. Haley explained that she was representing the interests of America. She stated that she was proud to be able to do this, even though there was a huge push back from almost every single other member country. Haley won’t back down. When it comes to funding from the Trump administration, Haley explained, “He doesn’t want to give any additional funding to the situation. We’re trying to move for a peace process, but if that doesn’t happen, the President is not going to continue to fund that situation.”
Then, Haley went on, “I stood proudly, even if I was the only hand in the Security Council, to fight for the will of the people of the United States. They wanted to see the embassy moved to Jerusalem and we followed through with that. We very much still want to have a peace process, nothing changes with that. The Palestinians now have to show the world they want to come to the table. As of now, they’re not coming to the table, but they ask for aid. We’re not giving the aid, we’re going to make sure they come to the table and we want to move forward with the peace process.”
Haley mentioned a resolution which is the recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. Our Commander in Chief has threatened in to pull aid from countries that don’t agree with this resolution previously. Not only are we recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, we are also moving our embassy there to support this claim.
The Palestinian Authority is on its way to turning in the documents that are required for signing on to 22 international conventions and treaties. 18 of these conventions and treaties are under United Nations auspices. This is a protest against the unilateral American recognition of Israel’s capital as Jerusalem. The Abbas have made a similar decision in the past.

In September, Haley again took Trump’s opinion to the United Nations by going after the Obama-era Iran Deal. Trump called it an embarrassment and Haley then spoke to the UN Security Council to say that Iran “stands out” for their “deliberate” contributions and support of terrorist groups in the area including Hamas, a Palestinian terrorist organization. They are a proxy for Iran.
Just before Christmas, Haley sent a letter to other members of the United Nations saying that Trump “will be watching [the vote on the recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel] and has requested I report back on those who voted against us.” She said that he took it personally and that we would remember who voted against us.
