Kirsters Baish| Social media users were out for blood when they targeted Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California and Democratic Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer of New York Tuesday evening after the two gave their rebuttal to President Donald Trump’s prime-time national address from inside the White House’s Oval Office.
Fox News reports:
During his address, Trump called the conflict at the southern border a “crisis of the heart and the crisis of the soul” and repeated his request for $5.7 billion for a steel barrier. Meanwhile, Pelosi and Schumer stood firm with their position that the government shutdown must end in order to continue talks about border funding.
Twitter users called out the serious tone of the two Democrats and their comments, turning the whole thing into one big joke.
Some compared the two Democrats to “disappointed” parents.

Some wrote that Pelosi and Schumer could have been the stars of a commercial for a law firm… some even said they looked like they were in a hostage video.

TV tip for Schumer and Pelosi – When on a two shot, look at the person talking, not at the camera. Gives impression of hostage tape.

I don’t think this is exactly the reaction Pelosi and Schumer had in mind when they insisted that they be given equal airtime as the President following his prime-time address. It worked out great for us, however. They made themselves look even worse than they already have in the past, and we got a few good laugh in at their expense.
