Kirsters Baish| We all know that conservative commentator Ben Shapiro isn’t afraid to speak his mind, and if he disagrees with a leftist, he will gladly make it known and disprove their point. After Sunday night’s 75th Annual Golden Globe Awards, Shapiro did just that. Popular liberal talk show host Oprah Winfrey was awarded with the Cecil B. DeMille Lifetime Achievement Award, and during her speech she decided to go off on a tangent about the #MeToo movement against sexual harassment and civil rights. Unfortunately for Oprah, she overlooked a few very key factors.
Winfrey rambled on about sexual harassment and ended up saying something pretty idiotic about “speaking your truth.”
Then, Ben Shapiro of the Daily Wire jumped at the chance to point out the big issue with Oprah’s thoughtless comment. He explained, “There is no such thing as ‘your truth.’ There is the truth and your opinion.”
Shapiro is totally right. There isn’t any such thing as one person’s personal truth. There is simply the truth, meaning what actually happened.
Oprah called out sexual harassers in general throughout her speech saying, “For too long, women have not been heard or believed if they dared to speak their truth to the power to those men, but their time is up,” Winfrey said. “Their time is up!”
During her speech, Oprah praised the women who had come forward to accuse their harassers and abusers, but she didn’t mention anyone by name. Some of the women who had come forward were sitting in the front row at the award show. These leftist Hollywood elitists need to get their heads out of their own rear ends. At least we have people like Ben Shapiro on our side to put them in their place.
Listen to Shapiro speak about the whole matter:
