Mainstream Media Flaunts Protests Outside Supreme Court… Conservatives Post Pictures Telling a Very Different Story

Kirsters Baish| The old saying “a picture is worth a thousand words” doesn’t always hold true. In fact, when it comes to the way the mainstream media portrays things, sometimes a picture paints a very different story than the truth. After President Donald Trump’s announcement of his pick for the Supreme Court Justice nominee, Brett Kavanaugh, liberals were enraged. They had desperately hoped that Trump would pick someone who leaned more toward liberal ideologies, but let’s be honest… that was never going to happen.

Before the announcement was officially made, unhinged liberals made their way to the front steps of the Supreme Court building to protest. That’s right, they began protesting a decision before it was officially made.

Conservative Tribune reports:

Once it became clear who the nominee would be, the protesters immediately began to chant in opposition to him as liberals across the country bemoaned the potential reversal of Roe v. Wade, the supposed ushering in of Christian-style “Sharia law” — wonder what Muslims think of that particular critique from the left — and essentially the end of the civilized world as we know it.

Of course, the liberal media were all too keen to play up the protests on the steps of the Supreme Court and granted the group an incredible amount of coverage while pressing the narrative that this “massive” gathering of protesters represented the mainstream views of Americans across the country.

The liberal narrative is not exactly the way it went down, however. The truth is that the mainstream media covered the Supreme Court protests in such a way that the only images they showed were ones taken from within the crowd. These images made it appear as though a huge crowd had gathered to protest Justice Kavanaugh’s nomination.

One conservative political comedian and internet personality felt that he should assess the situation himself. What he found when he arrived at the Supreme Court building was a crowd that was far smaller than he was led to believe by media reports.

Political comedian and host of “No Things Considered,” Tim Long, made his way to the Supreme Court building, where liberals were protesting. He then took a selfie with the crowd behind him… which was much smaller than anticipated.

“A selfie to show just how few people are protesting at #SCOTUS right now … I’m sure the media angles make it look like thousands … it might be 300,” Young sent out on Twitter.

Twitchy’s The tweet-trackers took note of a few of the funniest responses to Young’s damning tweet, which established the real size of the angry crowd.

One Twitter user was quick to point out how right Young was in thinking that the mainstream media was hyping the protests up to be more than they actually were.

One commenter thought back to the Women’s March’s extremely anti-Kavanaugh media release. The media release had left the part where Kavanaugh’s name went empty. It read, “XX.” It was just another way to show that they were anti-Kavanaugh before his name was ever officially announced.

The left can claim that Americans are livid over Trump’s nomination of Brett Kavanaugh. They can claim that the protests are larger than life and that Trump was wrong in his pick. But, the truth remains that all it took to prove them wrong was a single selfie, calling them out on their lies.
