Kirsters Baish| New information has just come out about an anti-Trump FBI agent, and House Republicans have decided to fight back against both the FBI and the Department of Justice. It was previously reported that Peter Strzok was terminated from Robert Mueller’s special counsel after text messages were discovered between him and his mistress, Lisa Page, who happened to hate President Donald Trump. The story went even deeper. Strzok was in charge of the infamous investigation into failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s email server. He was also in charge of the prove into alleged collusion between President Donald Trump and Russia.
The Trump-hating FBI agent also used the totally fake allegations found in the “Russian dossier” in order to get his hands on a FISA warrant on at least one member of President Trump’s campaign. That member was Carter Page.
It gets worse. The FBI and the Department of Justice withheld the fact that Strzok was heavily anti-Trump from Congress. House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes is ready to fight back, and he isn’t going to back down this time.
The Daily Caller reported:
The chairman of the House Intelligence Committee is threatening to hold the Justice Department and FBI in contempt of Congress for withholding details about why a top FBI investigator was removed from Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian interference in the presidential campaign.
“I have instructed House Intelligence Committee staff to begin drawing up a contempt of Congress resolution for DOJ Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and FBI Director Christopher Wray,” California Rep. Devin Nunes, the Republican chair of the committee, said in a statement on Saturday night.
Nunes set a Monday deadline for the DOJ and FBI to comply with the committee’s list of demands, which includes requests for interviews with Rosenstein, Wray, and deputy FBI director Andrew McCabe as well as documents related to the anti-Trump dossier written by former British spy Christopher Steele.
House Republicans have spent months bothering the FBI and the DOJ to give them information about the Trump-Russia probe. There has been no progress. Congress has been stopped and turned around in their tracks every single time. The Washington Post and the New York Times released articles with details about Strzok’s extreme bias against President Trump, and the House knew it was time for action.
Nunes was ready to explode when the revelation that the FBI counterintelligence official Peter Strzok was terminated from Mueller’s special counsel during the Summer after it came out that he had exchanged anti-Trump text messages with Lisa Page, an FBI lawyer and also his mistress. Page also worked on Mueller’s team.
Both the New York Times and the Washington Post released reports on Saturday that the DOJ’s inspector general found the text messages during an investigation into the way the FBI handled the Clinton email investigation. After finding the messages, Strzok was taken off Mueller’s special counsel. The reason for letting Strzok go was left a mystery for months. Strzok is currently working in the FBI’s human resources department.
In his statement in which he announcement contempt of Congress charges, Nunes claimed that both the DOJ and the FBI hid information about Strzok’s “documented political bias.”
Nunes explained, “In light of today’s press reports, we now know why Strzok was dismissed, why the FBI and DOJ refused to provide us this explanation, and at least one reason why they previously refused to make Deputy [FBI] Director [Andrew] McCabe available to the Committee for an interview.”
FBI Director Christopher Wray and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein are about to be the target of extreme scrutiny for their actions of blocking the House’s investigation.
Nunes went on, “This is part of a months-long pattern by the DOJ and FBI of stonewalling and obstructing this Committee’s oversight work, particularly oversight of their use of the Steele dossier. At this point, these agencies should be investigating themselves.”
These Left-wing nuts are so corrupt that Obama trusted them. That says a lot. We are lucky to have people like Nunes who are willing to expose the disgusting malfeasance in our government and begin cleaning house.
