Big Whiner: Chuck Schumer Bitter that President Trump Didn’t Consult Him on Supreme Court Nominee

Kirsters Baish| Democrat House Minority Leader Chuck Schumer really stepped out of line when he got upset that President Trump did not consult him before announcing his nomination for the Supreme Court Justice position. Yup, the New York Senator is angry at the President for not taking his lowly opinion into consideration.

Just a few hours before President Trump made the announcement, Schumer stood on the Senate floor, complaining that neither himself, nor other Democrats were a part of the decision.

As reported by Biz Pac Review:

“In the old days, the president would consult with Republicans and Democrats in the Senate on a qualified judge and then after careful deliberation, nominate a jurist that could get bipartisan support,” the New York Democrat said.

“What we have here is the exact opposite,” he added. “The president has gone to two far out-of-the-mainstream, hard right groups, the Heritage Foundation and the Federalist Society, and asked them – not the Senate – to advise and consent on a Supreme Court nomination.”

Schumer then picked on President Trump’s nominees due to their pro-life stance when it comes to the issue of abortion. He then tried to give the President legal advice in the case of Leonard Leo.

“No one has been more dedicated to overturning Roe v. Wade than Leonard Leo,” Shumer said.

He pushed, “Whomever the president selects tonight. If that nominee is from the pre-approved list selected by Leo and the Heritage Foundation, everyone ought to understand what it means for the freedom of women to make their own health care decisions and for the protection for Americans with preexisting conditions.”

The way Schumer stood there complaining is a little ridiculous considering the fact that he continually blasted President Trump and the GOP in the days since Justice Kennedy made the announcement that he was retiring. He then blamed the GOP and the President for not putting in Merrick Garland. He claimed that they would make it difficult for anyone Trump decides on. Representative Nancy Pelosi said a while back that the Democrats would “get revenge” for Barack Obama.

Senator Schumer slammed every one of Trump’s top candidates over the last week or so. President Trump had no reason to ask Schumer’s opinion on the matter. He had made his opinion clear already, and the media had enforced it over and over again.

Now that the Democrats don’t have the Senate majority due to their own decision to get rid of the filibuster rule, they are going to have a very hard time stopping Trump’s nominee from being confirmed.

There are currently  51 Republicans and 49 Democrats.

But Schumer said he was up for the challenge. “I will oppose Judge Kavanaugh’s nomination with everything I have, and I hope a bipartisan majority will do the same. The stakes are simply too high for anything less,” Schumer said, according to the Hill.
