Bad News for Woman Who Helped Tear Down Confederate Monument

Kirsters Baish|Many of us have seen the video of extremist Liberals who took it upon themselves to tear down a Confederate monument illegally. Well, the good news is that it only took a day for authorities to track down one of the group’s leaders. She is facing an array of felony and misdemeanor charges thanks to her idiotic actions.

Takiya Thompson, 22, a North Carolina Central University student and Workers World Party member, was charged for her actions, and I think the charges are pretty fitting. A local station, WNCN reported that she is being charged with “disorderly conduct by injury to a statue,” “damage to real property,” “participation in a riot with property damage in excess of $1,500” and “inciting others to riot where there is property damage in excess of “$1,500.”

The first of the two charges are just misdemeanors, however, the second two are felony offenses. Thompson has been vocal about having no regrets for her actions.

She was quoted telling reporters, “the people decided to take matters into our own hands and remove the statue. We are tired of waiting on politicians who could have voted to remove the white supremacist statues years ago, but they failed to act. So we acted.”

Thompson and her fellow rioters may feel that they are above the law, but clearly that isn’t the case. Durham County Sheriff Michael D. Andrews made it very clear on Tuesday that this behavior is simply unacceptable.

His statement read, “as the Sheriff, I am not blind to the offensive conduct of some demonstrators nor will I ignore their criminal conduct. With the help of video captured at the scene, my investigators are working to identify those responsible for the removal and vandalism of the statue.” He went on to say, “no one is getting away with this. We can all agree yesterday went too far.”

The Left doesn’t seem to have any problem with breaking the law and acting like a bunch of unruly animals, so it’s likely that Sheriff Andrews’ statement is falling on deaf ears.

As the Conservative Tribune stated:

It’s sad too because, as philosopher George Santayana once eloquently noted, “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” And at the rate the left is going, it won’t be long until the mere study of Confederate history is itself deemed racist.
